Assisted Classrooms
More than 200 CMU classrooms and instructional labs are equipped with technology-enhanced
instructional computers, Internet connections, and the means to display computer
images on large screens.
Shared Workspaces for Collaboration
Now available through the CMU Portal! Taking advantage of Microsoft Sharepoint Services, Shared Workspaces
can be created with controlled access for document storage, discussion boards, surveys, announcements, to-do lists
and more!

Blackboard
This campus-wide course management system allows faculty and instructors to present
course material, videos, and other presentations online via the Web and to
interact with students through list serves and online chat sessions. Blackboard is now also available through
the CMU Portal!

Technology Training
Information Technology offers free workshops, online help guides, and
for-credit courses to help you become comfortable using technology. You can also
take for-credit courses via the BIS and CST departments.

Adaptive Technologies and
Accommodations
Students registered with Student Disability Services have at their
disposal several choices for adaptive computing. The Adaptive Technology
Room, currently located in the Bovee University Center, room 311, is
accessible during normal building hours. Also, there are currently over
twenty additional locations throughout campus where these specialized
computers are available.
Features of the AT room include:
- Screen readers

- Closed Circuit Television
- Alternative input devices
- Voice recognition systems
