CMU has entered into the Microsoft Campus Agreement, which provides the general
Microsoft productivity software for all desktop computers on campus.
This Agreement is in effect from August 1, 2007 until July 31, 2008. [Also see

Office Use
Obtaining Microsoft Software
Faculty and staff can obtain Microsoft software in the following ways:

College Technicians/DCSC Representative - Contact your individual
college technicians/DCSC representative to install the software onto your
office machine. (See IT Committees: DCSC
to find out who your college DCSC representative is.)

IT Technician - Contact the Help Desk to have an IT technician
install the software to your office machine. There will be a nominal fee if
you choose this option.

Systems Management Server (SMS) - Software can be delivered
electronically to some campus machines. Call the Help Desk (774-3662) to verify that
the software can be delivered to your campus machine.
Home Use
Available Microsoft Software Titles (Work At Home Media)
The following software titles are currently available through our Agreement. The
Campus Agreement grants you the option, “during the term of this agreement to
run the most current version, or any previous version of the software.” During
the term of this agreement when new versions of the software release, you have
the automatic right to deploy those upgrades.

Work at Home Use Rights
Microsoft has redefined their Work at Home Rights. These rights allow faculty
and staff members to use a copy of the software for work-related purposes
on a personally owned machine. All software listed may be used on home machines.
