How do I set up a departmental web site?
To set up a departmental Web site, contact the Help Desk at (989) 774-3662.
Do student organizations have access to web space?
Registered student organizations can create Web pages on the RSO server. To
request Web space on the RSO server, visit the site:
CMU Registered Student Organizations. To
understand how to request and access RSO pages, see the
Quick Guide: Requesting and
Accessing RSO Web pages at CMU.
Does CMU provide personal webspace for students?
Every student, employee and alumni with a global ID has personal webspace in the
form of a MySite. Quick Guide: Creating personal web pages at CMU.
I am the student maintaining my RSO's Web
site; why can't I log in?
If you have tried to log in and cannot, check the following:
- You have established an NT account via the Help Desk.
- You and your advisor have contacted IT to give you access to
the RSO web.
- You are typing central/ before your Global ID in the
login name field.
- You are not "locked out" of the system. If you have tried
unsuccessfully three times to log into your Web via FrontPage,
you will automatically be locked out. You need to contact the
Help Desk (774-3662) to unlock your account.
"Why doesn't 'Publish' work for my RSO pages in FrontPage?"
If you are working on www.rso.cmich.edu/<your-rso-web>,
publishing won't work. Publishing means copying from one site to
another -- you can't publish to a site you are already working in. Just
use File > Save. If you are working in a local copy of your RSO
site, then copying to the
www.rso.cmich.edu site, publishing WILL work.
For additional assistance, contact the Help Desk at
helpdesk@cmich.edu or (989)
774-3662.
